hydrogen on demand technologies

MMTrading is investing in hydrogen-based technology to reduce emissions from diesel engines in the marine industry. While alternative fuels like LNG, Methanol, and Ammonia are being introduced, it’s important to consider the challenges associated with each fuel.

The use of hydrogen on demand (HOD) is an interesting approach that could potentially allow existing hydrocarbon fuels to be used while still complying with environmental regulations. It’s encouraging to hear that testing of this technology on high power land-based diesel generation units has yielded positive results.
It’s also interesting to note that the test bed engine being used is a 1965-designed, 1990-built V20 3000 kW generator. This demonstrates that even older engines can be retrofitted with new technology to reduce emissions and improve their environmental performance.

Looking forward, it will be important for MMTrading to continue to invest in the development and testing of this technology to ensure that it is safe, reliable, and effective. If successful, this could be a significant step towards reducing emissions from the marine industry and creating a more sustainable future for all of us.
