The use of hydrogen on demand (HOD) is an interesting approach that could potentially allow existing hydrocarbon fuels to be used while still complying with environmental regulations. It’s encouraging to hear that testing of this technology on high power land-based diesel generation units has yielded positive results.
It’s also interesting to note that the test bed engine being used is a 1965-designed, 1990-built V20 3000 kW generator. This demonstrates that even older engines can be retrofitted with new technology to reduce emissions and improve their environmental performance.
